That Meetball Place is located on Main Street in Farmingdale. I recently had dinner there with a friend to celebrate my birthday. The service was great. Our table was ready and I was seated at the exact time of our reservation. The waiter immediately came over to make sure everything was to my liking while I waited for my friend to arrive. I loved the atmosphere. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays and the rotating colors of the lights created a nice ambiance.
A large portion of the menu is “meatball” based where you choose the type of ball you want. They offer an interesting variety like the Classic Meatball, Buttermilk Buffalo Chicken, Lobster Risotto, Greek Lamb, Eggplant Pesto just to name a few. You also choose how you want your balls served. You can “Build a Ballsy Meal” or you can opt to have the balls served as Parmesan, in Skillets or Subwiches. If you are not in the mood for balls, they also offer a variety of soups, salads, wings, flatbreads and more.
When you choose the “Build a Ballsy Meal” option, which I did, you choose the type of ball, a sauce and the style which could be in a bowl, over pasta, a TMP Sampler etc. I chose the Lobster Risotto Balls made with saffron rice, lobster and red peppers served over rigatoni with a Pancetta Cream Sauce. All I can say is WOW! What a great choice. My meal was phenomenal. Carol exercised more self-control and ordered her Lobster Risotto Balls with a salad.
For dessert I ordered the Iron Chocolate Cookie Skillet. I will let the pictures speak for themselves! The brownie was served warm, topped with my choice of mint chocolate chip gelato. This dessert really hit the spot. As you can see I ate every drop. My only complaint is the skillet was too small so it didn’t last long. I could have used a larger portion and that would have made it perfect.
I am looking forward to the chance to go back soon to try their Chicken & Waffle Balls served for brunch. I am a huge fan of chicken and waffles so I am anxious to give them a try.
Overall this was a great choice for casual dining. Good food, good location and great service. Two thumbs up.
