This week’s foodie adventure was up to Harlem. While I was out celebrating my friend Laura’s birthday, I had to make a stop at this bakery. Levain bakery has some of the best cookies around. I received a box of these as a gift from a friend of mine and I was pleasantly surprised. I have friends, family and colleagues who say these are some of the best cookies they have ever tasted. The appearance can be deceiving because they almost look like scones but these cookies are soft and delicious. They tend to keep well too. You can’t tell from the picture but they are huge.
Levain has several locations. However, they bake the cookies in Harlem so I decided to visit this location instead of the Upper Westside. I believe they will even warm up the cookies for you. I heard the man behind me in line ask if they would warm up his cookies for him and I am pretty sure I heard the woman say yes.
Since I didn’t have my partner in crime with me, I had to hook him up and ship some to him.

Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip
Chocolate Chip Walnut
Oatmeal Raisin
I am not a huge fan of Oatmeal Rasin but even those are good.
If you are up in Harlem and want something sweet to eat, stop by Levain and treat yourself to some freshly baked cookies.

Hi Allison! We’d heard so many good things about Levain, but we didn’t actually get to try the cookies until about a month ago, and we were amazed how much we liked them! The UWS location always has a line, but it was totally worth the wait. 🙂 We’ll definitely be back soon.
